Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to your data when you use this application. The short version: your photo is sent to our server, used to measure your foot, and nothing else. We do not ask who you are and we do not try to find out.

2. What we receive, and what we do with it

When you take a measurement, the following is sent to our server:

• the photograph you selected, reduced in size for processing;
• the positions of the markers you place and confirm;
• the paper size you selected and the calculated foot length;
• technical information about your browser, operating system and device type, which helps us find faults.

This is used for two purposes: to carry out the measurement you asked for - the server locates the sheet in the photo and suggests where the markers belong - and to improve the accuracy of that detection.

Nothing is personalised. We do not ask for your name, your email address or an account. A measurement is stored under a generated reference such as 20260908_143210_7f3a9c21 and is not connected to your identity. We do not build profiles, we do not use the photographs for advertising, and we do not pass them to third parties.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because processing the photograph is what delivers the service you requested, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a measurement that works reliably.

Photographs and measurement records are deleted automatically after 90 days. You can ask us to delete a measurement sooner by sending us the reference shown after the measurement.

The application sets no cookies, and uses no tracking, no analytics, no advertising and no social media plug-ins.

3. Server log files

Delivering a web page requires a request to a server. Our hosting provider records this request in an access log, which normally contains the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser identification.

This data is processed to deliver the page, to keep the service stable and to detect abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating the site securely. These logs are not combined with any other data and are deleted by the provider after a short period.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise a right over a specific measurement, send us its reference - it is the only way we can identify your record, because nothing else connects it to you.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

5. Data security

This site and the transfer of your photograph are protected by an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to stored measurements is restricted to the people who need it to operate and support the service.

6. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the application changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
